The West Preston Lakeside Football Club is deeply saddened by the passing of one of our finest, Laurie Tilley on Thursday April 30.
Laurie played 134 games for the club, he was A grade Captain 1969-70 (playing coach), B grade Captain 1972 (playing coach), A grade Coach for 6 seasons 1970, 74-77 & 85. A Grade Premiership coach 1974, President for 11 years 87-91, 93-94, 98-01, Life member in 1981. 3 generations of Tilley’s has graced our club over the past decades.
He has been arguably the most Powerful influential supporter of the club throughout his tenure and beyond. When awards ran out for outstanding service the club named one in his honour for exceptional service.
