The WPLFC is pleased to announce the appointment of Niall McDonagh as our Senior Womens Coach for 2019. Niall is well known around our Club, having commenced his junior career at West way back in 1994. He progressed through to senior ranks and went on to play in our 2010 Senior Division 1 Premiership. The consummate professional, you will struggle to find someone that works as hard or better prepares himself than Niall. This work ethic combined with Niall’s passion for footy and ability to mentor younger teammates will ensure that Niall continues to build on the solid foundation that has been laid by our inaugural Senior Womens Coach, Brett “Polly” Pollard.

Good luck Niall. We know you will do a great job.

Whilst we are thrilled to have secured Niall, we are sad to see Polly depart the Roosters. Polly has taken on an exciting opportunity at Essendon – Assistant Coach of their VFLW team. Polly jumped on board back in 2016, just after we had decided to launch Senior Womens footy. His ability to pass on his knowledge meant that women who had never played footy previously were fast-tracked into competitive footballers. The ladies made it through to the GF in their first season and after the disappointment of missing out on the Cup, Polly was determined to go one better in 2018. Polly’s efforts and his passion for womens footy were rewarded with a history making, first ever Senior Womens Premiership for WPLFC.

All the best for the future, Polly. We know the Bombers are in good hands.
